Bladder concerns?
Bowel problems?
Concerns with sexual function?
Pregnancy, prenatal, post-partum issues?
Menopause?
Prolapse?

Low back pain?

Why your body does what it does, and what you can do about it. I also want to guide you to any next steps you can take. I want to help you figure out where to look for answers, who to talk to, where to go for more help.
Everyone deserves to feel powerful and comfortable in their body. Understanding your body better is a huge step towards that goal.
Learn Pelvic Wisdom is an education platform where I bring pelvic health education to everyone who wants it. It is in-person, group classes, held in any location where like-minded people want to learn. Click on "join a class" to see if there is a class near you, on the subject you want to learn. "Class Descriptions" has many examples of classes I teach. Or reach out to me if you want to host or request a class!

5 years experience treating pelvic health conditions in a physical therapy setting
PTA, LMT, Therapeutic Pain Specialist, Clinical Athlete Provider, Pelvic Rehab Specialist
My mission is to bring high quality, evidence-based information and education about pelvic health to anyone and everyone. Down-to-earth, practical knowledge that you can use. Teaching about bodies in fun, realistic ways, and filing in many of the things you wished you had learned in high school.
I help people see themselves as whole, just as they are. I teach them how they are not broken and alone. Then, I use my knowledge and skills to guide them to improve in areas that are important to them. I teach them how to listen to their bodies. How to interpret the signals their bodies are sending and how to respond in ways that work with their bodies to build better patterns.
I am a perpetual student and nerd for all things human. Especially the interplay of the physical and the emotional aspects of living in bodies. I started my professional journey in all things health in 2011 with a second round of higher education to earn a Licensed Massage Therapist certification. (the first round was an Associates in General Studies. What can I say? I was 19. Shrugs). Massage therapy was great. It allowed me the flexibility to take care of my three young kids. I then got into weight lifting and CrossFit in 2015. I decided I wanted to do more for people who were in pain than just massage but I did not have the credentials or the training to teach people how to help their bodies function better. Back to school I went, for the third time. This time I came out certified as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
I wasn’t looking for a pelvic health speciality, but the speciality found me. I found a job at Dunn Physical Therapy, an all-pelvic PT clinic in Louisville, KY. It has since been adopted into the ProRehab PT company in Louisville. The Dutchmans location, where I work my main job, is all pelvic rehab, all the time. I love my job. I love normalizing talking about commonly taboo subjects regarding sensitive body functions. I love helping people feel more comfortable,
educated, and empowered in their own bodies. And I love continually learning and pushing the boundaries of my understanding. In the five years I have been working for ProRehab as a PT Assistant in Pelvic Health, I have earned certifications and training in treatment of all sorts of pelvic disorders, from hip and low back pain, prenatal and postpartum concerns, to constipation and GI issues, urinary incontinence and other disorders, as well as all kinds of pelvic pain, all genders. I am also certified as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist and a certified Clinical Athlete Provider.
I am very enthusiastic about teaching people about their bodies. Turns out, we have more control over some things than you might think, and less control over other things. In my job as a PTA, I take care of patients one on one. I merge a top-down approach (how you think influences how your body responds) and a bottom-up approach (how you move influences how your mind interprets the world). I love to teach practical application of mind-body connection by explaining how various parts of our bodies work and what we can do to influence those parts. One of the questions I get asked almost daily is: “why hasn’t anyone told me about this sooner??”.
That’s how Learn Pelvic Wisdom was born. I want to reach more people, to teach them how they can understand their bodies better and what they can do to improve their body’s function. The pelvis, and all of its functions, is generally a mystery, a taboo, not something for polite dinner time conversation. Well, not anymore. It’s time to talk about it.
